Summer Sangria

Back in April, the Spring Fling was offered up as a warmer weather cocktail.  The even warmer weather of June, and the summer party season, means it is time to scale-up production.  A lovely, fruity and cool pitcher of sangria is just the thing.  Whether you prefer the classic red wine sangria or white wine sangria, there is a variation for you.  Below is a white whine sangria recipe using Moscato and no added sugar.

Summer Sangria

  • 1 magnum bottle Moscato
  • 1/3 cup peach schnapps
  • 1/3 cup apple schnapps
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, diced and sprinkled with cinnamon.
  • 1 nectarine, diced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda

Add all the ingredients to a large pitcher, cover and refrigerate for 2-4 hours.  To serve, add ice to glasses, then sangria.  Finish off with a splash of club soda and a bit of fruit from the pitcher. Enjoy!
