QBCBC 47: National Bohemian

The Quest for the Best Cheap Beer in a Can continues, episode 47: National Bohemian. The QBCBC archive is here.

This was probably one of the cheapest fucking 12ers I’ve ever boughted. It advertises in nice cursive writing “From the Land of Pleasant Living”, but come on, have you ever BEEN to Milwaukee?? Anyways, I am thoroughly freaked out by strange mustachioed individual on the label. WHY DOES HE ONLY HAVE ONE EYE!?!

% Alcohol: 4.3

Price: $6.99/12 12 oz. cans = $0.58/12 oz. can

Punch: 4.3%/$0.58=7.41

Color: Golden with a slight orangish tint to it.

Aroma: Kind of watered down hoppy aroma, slight caramel hint.

First Sip: It has the initial taste of being slightly watered-down but no where something like a miller lite or bud light beer.

Aftertaste: A little skunked actually.

Overall: Definitely a meh beer. Its cheap that I would consider it again and average enough to sit around and slam a few on a hot summer day. But there is nothing distinctive about it.

Score: 5/10

actually…this beer originated in baltimore..not Milwaukee! hahah

  2. Jared says:

” The land of pleasant living” is actually Baltimore (not Milwaukee), where it was originally brewed. This beer only is good during Orioles games, cutting the grass, or while eating blue crabs. The old Boh building still has a massive neon sign of the Boh man blinking. A classic sight of the Baltimore skyline.
