QBCBC 46: König Pilsener

This German import has been around since 1516 so they must be doing something right, right? Also, what makes this beer extra awesome is that the kid at the cash register of the grocery store where I got it couldn’t get it to scan, so he said fuck it and entered in misc grocery item for $1.00. Score! Should have went back bought them out of it!

% Alcohol: 4.9

Price: $6.99/4 16.9 oz. cans = $1.24/12 oz. can

Punch: 4.9%/$1.24=3.95

Color: Golden with a steady stream of bubbles, even after 10-1 min.

Aroma: Very fruity, a hint of peaches, with a slight malt.

First Sip: Bright bitterness, crisp, pleasant to taste initially.

Aftertaste: Dry bittnerness develops and sticks around on the back of the tongue.  Loses its pleasantness after a short while, but never offensive.

Overall: First, this is a German beer. If you don’t know what that means, the Germans know a fucking thing or two about beer. It outclasses american canned beer by far. Of course, being an import it is a bit expensive and there are comparable beers by taste that are cheaper or have higher alcohol content. This makes a good summer/fall beer I think.
