QBCBC 28: Colt 45

The Quest for the Best Cheap Beer in a Can continues, episode 28: Colt 45 Malt Liquor. The QBCBC archive is here.

I had never seen this in a can before, only the ole 40 oz, so had to nab me one for the Quest. Plus it has a fucking horseshoe on it. Thats just badass.

% Alcohol: 6.1

Price: $1.49/24 oz. can = $0.75/12 oz. can

Punch: 6.1%/$0.765=8.13

Color: Yellow, tint of orange.

Aroma: Has virtually no aroma. But has a weird overtone of mildewy shower…

First Sip: Is this fucking water? There is almost no initial taste. Any overtones that might be there I can’t really pick up.

Aftertaste: Has a very strange aftertaste. Like tapwater from a 100 year building before lead regulations…

Overall: Not offensive but not good either. I don’t think there is an ounce of hops in this beer. I can’t even taste a hint of malt really, and you know, its supposed to be a “malt liquor”. But it does have 6.1% alcohol in  it which is pretty nice, so I can’t dismiss it as a pointless beer. Its point is to get you quickly FFUUCCKKEEDD!! But um, the peeps at the factory but want to wash their equipment out and take care of that mildew problem…

Score: 4/10
