QBCBC 26: Busch Light

The Quest for the Best Cheap Beer in a Can continues, episode 26: Busch Light. The QBCBC archive is here.

According to the canvertising this is a “great taste in an easy drinking light beer”. I wonder if its true. I’m a little confused by the ‘natural aging’ and ‘natural carbonation’ remarks though. So they let it sit around in the can for a long time? How did  it get natural carbonated then?

% Alcohol: 4.1

Price: $6.39/6 pack 12 oz cans = $1.07/12 oz. can

Punch: 4.1%/$1.07=3.83

Color: Very light yellow.

Aroma: Kind of smells like shit, like fecal matter kind of shit… huh. Definitely skunked though, which is where it might be comin from… maybe its from that “natural aging” process…

First Sip: Its strangely taste a little different than its competitors, like Bud Light, Miller Lite , etc. Maybe a slightly more artificial taste to it. A skunky bitterness

Aftertaste: Just a little sweet bitternes on the back of my tongue.

Overall: Not a horrible beer, despite my misgivings about its taste and smell. For a quick slam down the hatch it works well. But at 4.1% and its price, why bother? Get better taste for cheaper in my opinion.

Score: 3.5/10
