QBCBC 14: Bud Light Lime

The Quest for the Best Cheap Beer in a Can continues, episode 14: Bud Light Lime. The QBCBC archive is here.

I approach this part of the Quest with great trepidation. If you remember my previous experience with Bud Light, I vowed never to let a drop of that fecal matter touch my lips ever again. But yet I find myself in this journey back in the saddle again, this time it is dressed up in lime.

% Alcohol: 4.2

Price: $1.79/24 oz can = $0.90/12 oz. can

Punch: 4.2%/$0.90=4.67

Color: Significantly darker than a typical Bud Light, nearly amber.

Aroma: Definitely more than a hint of lime in it, smells not half bad actually.

First Sip: The lime comes off right away and it is surprisingly not very artificial tasting. They do, after all, advertise “100% Natural Lime Flavor”… The lime is pretty overpowering though and I cannot sense any other real overtones.

Aftertaste: Virtually non-existent, like the watered-down bile of its parent, Bud Light.

Overall: All the fucking lime does is mask the fol taste of the regular Bud Light. And for that I give it an extra star, way to go Bud! It is too offensive, but really, compared to the other contenders we’ve seen, this is just dust in the wind. See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya Bud.

Score: 2/10

  1. Bud Light Lime is great in the morning though: get up, grab a BLL, hit the pool. Miss you, summer

  2. Hannah, I think you bring up a good. I can see that it would indeed be a good get that morning buzz going kind of drink. A piece of grapefruit, bowl of rice krispies, cup of morning jo, and an ice cold Bud Light Lime.
