The Quest for the Best Cheap Beer in a Can continues, episode 20: Genny Light. The QBCBC archive is here.
Ahh, cheap beers in a can minus the calories! What could be better? How about if its actually palatable and has a bit of flavor too? Lets see what Genny has to offer us shall we?
% Alcohol: 3.6
Price: $1.09/24 oz can = $0.55/12 oz. can
Punch: 3.6%/$0.55=6.55
Color: Light yellow, the color of fido’s special snow.
Aroma: A metallic hops/malt aroma. Definitely smells how its priced!
First Sip: And it tastes how it smells. Watered down hoppiness cut with layers of corn starch.
Aftertaste: Aftertaste not discernible from the intial taste, other than it lingers on the back of the tongue a lot of longer than other light beers.
Overall: Really, honestly a crappy beer. Not much redeeming about other than it a grand step above Bud Light and Miller Lite. I guess that is something to strive for. On top of it, for nearly a buck a can you get less alcohol, so not that great of a deal either.
Score: 3/1o
